Privacy Policy — Pricing Desk VIN Evaluator (browser extension)

Last updated: October 11, 2026

What the extension does

The Pricing Desk VIN Evaluator finds Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) on the web page you are viewing and, when you click, opens that VIN in your own Pricing Desk web application to evaluate the vehicle's price.

Data collection

The extension does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal information or browsing data. It does not use analytics, tracking or advertising of any kind.

What is stored on your device

• The web address of your Pricing Desk site (a setting you enter).
• A short list of VINs you recently evaluated, so you can re-open them.

This information is stored only in your browser's local extension storage and never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time from the extension's options page or by removing the extension.

Page access

The extension reads the text of a page only to detect 17-character VINs and place an "Evaluate" button beside them. Page content is not saved or sent anywhere. When you choose to evaluate a VIN, only that VIN (and, if shown on the page, the odometer reading and asking price) is passed to your Pricing Desk site in the web address of the tab it opens.

Third parties

No data is sent to the extension developer or to any third party by the extension itself. Any processing of a VIN happens inside your Pricing Desk site, under that site's own settings.
